Author and Publisher Make Donation to the Dartmouth Education Foundation
On Monday September 12th, the author of Secrets of Old Dartmouth, Kathleen Ryan Comiskey Roberts, and Publisher of Vineyard Sound Books, Stephen Caravana, presented the Chairman of The Dartmouth Education Foundation, John Beauregard, with a check for $800.
During the meeting between Mr. Beauregard, Ms. Roberts, and Mr. Caravana, the three discussed their commitment to education in Dartmouth. Mr. Beauregard explained that the DEF will continue to enhance education for the children of Dartmouth. He noted that the foundation will assist as necessary to provide educators and students with financial assistance to fund programs that may otherwise not be possible under the state's minimum net school spending formula.
Ms. Roberts, a retired teacher from Dartmouth, voiced her concerns over the challenges faced by teachers today. At the meeting, she expressed her ongoing commitment to assisting the DEF in their work. Ms. Roberts and Mr. Caravana both indicated that they will continue to support the DEF with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Ms. Roberts' wonderfully educational book, Secrets of Old Dartmouth.
Ms. Roberts and Mr. Caravana expressed their sincere thanks to Mr. Beauregard and the DEF for their hard work, dedication, and unwavering support to the children and educators of Dartmouth.
